Group Volunteer

We are Strathearn Building Bridges who strive to provide a friendly, supportive, FUN environment to people who have learning and other disabilities in the Crieff area. Our volunteers help to deliver group activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, outings, karaoke and even fashion shows!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Group facilitation/support with guidance from a lead organiser
  • One-to-one support in a group environment with guidance from a lead organiser
  • Activity coordination and/or organisation within a group environment with guidance from a lead organiser


Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting people who have a disability (however not essential as support will be given throughout probationary period)
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Approachable, friendly and patient
  • Enthusiastic about working with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Good teamworking skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Physical abilities - for sports activities only

Volunteer & Activity Coordinator?


Do you have a passion for making a difference to people’s lives? Strathearn Building Bridges (SBB) is a small charity based in Crieff, Perthshire for people with learning and other disabilities. We’re looking for someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills to support us in our aim to sustain and grow our activities.
Key responsibilities include:


• Working closely with SBB Activity Leaders, identify, organise and co-ordinate the support required to facilitate access to social and personal development activities for individuals experiencing isolation, including but not limited to members of SBB.
• Working in partnership with a range of local organisations to offer a wide variety of inclusive and socially integrated activities and to support people experiencing isolation to participate.
• Becoming the first point of contact and provide ongoing support and supervision to existing SBB volunteers.


• £18 per hour plus expenses
• approximately 500 hours over a year
• Self-employed or fixed-term employment contract
